Raising a family is an incredible privilege and creates every emotion both positive and challenging. Having children also teaches us that life doesn’t stand still. It does not seem possible that my daughter starts high school this year. Family life certainly teaches us that time is constant and finite.
As a professional financial adviser, I am privileged to witness and learn from lessons in life that come from helping people through the generations. From the first moments of starting a new family to the elder generation at the twilight of their retirement years.
This is something extraordinary. Lessons in life from being a part of the lives of our clients from all walks of life, age, and relationships. Listening to our clients tell me about successes, failures, highs, and lows provides an amazing insight into their life.
I was asked what I have learnt from this privileged position. If I were to describe the most common trait in people I meet, who successfully navigate the changes twists & turns in life, both positive and negative, it is being proactive.
Being proactive helps families respond to and manage the changes in their life successfully. Being proactive helps people and families create and influence positive change to move forward to the next step. Being proactive helps you to be better prepared when life takes an unexpected turn that you didn’t plan for.
